Training, as per usual. There was a group of them out today, scrapping and stances and bickering and all that fun stuff. And Wolfpaw was bored. He couldn't spar like he actually wanted to. Silverhawk let him, but even he told him to be careful. What's the point of sparring if it isn't real? Nobody on a battlefield is going to keep their claws in and when they hit you over the head go 'oops, are you alright?'.
So, Wolfpaw found his brother. Made sure to announce himself with a him and a tap of his tail before he spoke. "Come here," He said, gruff and grumpy as per usual, and brought him over to the opposite end of the little training grounds the group had made so that they did not have to trip over anyone. Once well enough away, he turned to his brother and inclined his head forward. His eyes were narrowed, that hint of a smirk. Trouble brewing. "Mama showed you any proper battle stuff yet?" He asked, wiping his paw over his own maw-- Dust on it, probably. Or a spider? Eh. "Or just the 'just in case you get jumped' stuff?"

Fernpaw wasn't quite used to training with other apprentices in a big group like this. Focusing was much easier when there was only one opponent and you already knew them well, like Hedgepaw or Wolfpaw. Suddenly, his brother approached almost as if on cue, followed by a rather blunt command. Fernpaw followed the probably bored tabby, his eyes narrowing with suspicion as that familiar just-barely-a-smirk crossed Wolfpaw's face. What does he want?
After the tom wiped his gross maw Fernpaw's eyebrow raised above the other. "Don't forget that I've fought the same predators as you, Wolfpaw," he reminded the apprentice. Fernpaw felt confident in his abilities, and that his brother should have no reason to underestimate him. But perhaps he needed to realize that for himself. So he calmly prompted the amber-eyed apprentice, "Do you want to spar?" His tail swished as he opened his stance slightly, preparing to steel himself in case Wolfpaw simply decided to attack as a response.
