"Pineblossom! There's a toad! I see it!" The ginger-pelted tom chirped with an excited mrrow. It had been like this their entire trek through the marshlands so far, his enthusiasm constantly outweighing any logic. If Crabpaw had stopped to think or paw attention to his surroundings, he likely would have noticed that indeed the warrior had spotted the creature ahead before it hopped away to safety. Annoyance was obvious in Pineblossom's voice which caused the apprentice to finally stop and looked down at his mud-soaked paws and underbelly.

"Oh.... oh." Crabpaw glanced up at the molly with innocent wide eyes. He lacked the self-aware that would have caused any level of a sheepish grin or embarrassed expression, instead a simple acceptance of the idea, "I will be silent as a snake. The prey will never see me coming." His tail-less haunches wriggled emphatically as he slid into a hunters crouch before dashing off in the direction the toad had gone. Breaking through the water-logged foliage, he splashed through a puddle and glanced around, realizing the target was nowhere in sight.

With a frown he padded slowly back to Pineblossom, "It was too fast. I must not be a very good snake."
