Shadowclan: Night Finesse is Active! A passive boost that grants +1 damage to each attack dealt only if attacking at night.
The moon hung high in the sky as Larkshine made her way through the forest. She walked alongside Sagefeather as Yarrowpaw and Orchidpaw followed behind them. Her paws walked the path she had followed many times as her mind wandered.
New-Leaf brought so much life with it which always seemed to catch Larkshine’s attention. She was watching moths dance in the moonlight, when she heard an unfamiliar rattle and clacking. “Do you guys hear that?” She mewed at her clanmates without taking the time to face them; instead, she moved in the direction of the noise.
She pushed through some underbrush and as she came out on the other side, she was nose to nose with a large black critter with beady eyes. Her golden eyes held onto the creature before she started moving to the side. The dark spikey beast followed her. “UH HELP!” Larkshine cried out as the porcupine chased her. She quickly scooped up some mud and threw it at the beast’s face and moved to a safer distance.
Larkshine used Shadowclan: Mud Slap [Special, Stun] for -6 HP (5+1) and -10 SP

Porcupine has Quil Armor active! When attacked, the porcupine deals damage back to the attacker (3 damage). Does not affect a successful Belly Rake, but does affect a failed one. This move applies every turn that a pinning move is active.
Orchidpaw had been letting her paws lead her way - she wasn't paying attention. She was zoned out watching the soft bobbing of her mentor's tail in front of her as they walked.
"Do you guys hear that?"
A terrifying phrase. Her eyes widened and her head darted towards her mentor, running away from a dark spikey monster. Her heart raced in fear, and she felt frozen. Her unsheathed claws dug in the mud. Larkshine, her mentor, seemed just as alarmed - her usual confidence shaken by this threat.
She felt a surge of desperation. She had to help. She was an apprentice of ShadowClan and she'll make her mentor proud! She didn't know what this beast was... But, she'll destroy it.
While the beast was blinded by mud, she lunged towards it with a shaky breath. Her claws sliced through the air. Sudden, searing pain - she felt something sharp pierce her paw. She cried out, stumbling back in shock. If there was a warning, she didn't hear it.
Quills. She had been struck by quills between her claws. Tears welled up in her eyes and she pulled away and stumbled backward.
"We have to leave!" She mewed urgently, panic in her voice as she held up her wounded paw. She hobbled on three legs, glancing at her mentor for guidance or some sort of resolution.
Orchidpaw used Front Paw Strike + Desperate Blows, doing 15 (8 + 6 + 1) damage and using 14 (7 + 7) stamina. She took 3 damage due to Quill Armor.

Yarrowpaw observed Larkshine's reaction and orchidpaws attempt at an attack on the creature and by Larkshine's reaction and Orchidpaw's pained response to attacking. He figured attacking this thing head on was not the proper response He notice small thick spike like hairs all over the back of this creature. he did however notice that none of them seemed to be located on its belly.
He thought to himself maybe that was a weak point and whether it was foolish or not he thought he could attempt an attack despite having not been trained for any type of confrontation yet by his mentor. If nothing else he thought he might be used as a distraction for the more seasoned individuals to handle the situation.
Yarrowpaw charged at the thing fully intending on getting under it but as he tried to slide, he and not so gracefully managed to step on his own tail causing him to roll straight into the side of the creature causing immense pain in his side.
Yarrowpaw thought to himself "what was i thinking" as he jumped back away from the pain.
Yarrowpaw attempted to use belly rack but failed (failed belly rake damage taken 5 + 3 due to quill armor) total damage taken -8HP (20-8=12) stamina used -25SP (60-25=35)

Seeing a porcupine chase a warrior might have been funny... if porcupines didn't have quills and actually could really hurt someone. Sagefeather sprang into action, abandoning the lizard he'd been stalking when Larkshine shouted for assistance. He winced at witnessing Yarrowpaw's failed attempt on the porcupine, but Sagefeather wasn't about to let anyone else be hurt if he could help it.
"Retreat if you need to, I can keep it busy for a minute!" He offered as he closed in for an attack.
Sagefeather used Jumping Strike, dealing 9 (+1 Night Finesse) damage and -7SP

The spikey beast recovered from being stunned and rage seemed to flow out of him alongside the blood. In a fit of fury, it swung its tail hoping to deter the attacking cats. It managed to hit one of the cats that was going in for an attack. The pointy animal darted away into the darkness while it had the chance.
Porcupine used Tail Smack on Larkshine for -15hp and -15sp and has fled from battle.
Larkshine refused to retreat, she was confident in the patrol’s capability in taking down the angry creature. She charged forward, ready to strike when the porcupine swung its tail and smacked her in the face. A shriek of pain escaped her mouth and blood poured down her face.
The young warrior stumbled backwards a short distance before her butt hit the ground. She imagined porcupine quills hurting but something else was wrong. The world seemed to spin around her, maybe it was because of the force she was smacked with. She sat still for a short while shocked by what had just happened and trying to figure out what was wrong.
It wasn’t until one of the patrol members stepped in front of her that she pieced it together. The cat standing in front of her wasn’t just blurry they were red… Panic surged in the young molly’s body and she found herself once again stumbling backwards, except this time, she was rubbing her face in the mud and pawing at her eye. “GET IT OFF!! GET IT OFF!!! GET IT OFF!!!!” Her cries could be heard all the way back in camp as she desperately tried to scratch the quills out of her eye.
It took a little while for the adrenaline to wear off and for her to tire herself out. Larkshine laid in the mud violently shaking and her breathing was labored. She couldn’t move or say anything. The world continued to spin around her and the vision in her injured eye was completely gone by the time her patrol mates could even attempt to approach her.
