Larkshine Tier 3 Warrior | Shadowclan | She/Her
(OOC: rolling for a frog/toad - Larkshine Disability Penalty: -5 HP / -30 SP making her starting stats 45 HP / 90 SP)
Larkshine spent a lot of time with her new apprentice, showing her all around the territory and telling her about the dangers that lie within the swamp. Now she felt it was time to show Briarpaw how to hunt in the area. “Ok, so today we’ll be getting food to take back to the clan. Don’t get too upset if you miss a critter here or there, it happens all the time!” She mewed before closing her eyes and taking in the scents around her.
Instantly the smell of blood and an unfamiliar scent flooded her nose. Her golden eye shot open, and she ran towards the scent. She didn’t want her apprentice to get injured and was hoping to get the first strike in on the predator. She broke through the brush and lunged at the creature, while its back was turned towards her, and dug her sharp claws into its fur before retracting and landing in front of the grey bandit.
Larkshine used Jumping Strike on the Raccoon for -11HP and -7SP but didn't make contact with flesh (FAILED ATTEMPT)

The raccoon shrieked and dropped the frog it was eating as razor sharp claws pierced its skin. It quickly swiped its paw forward, smacking its attacker in the face. The raccoon hunched up and bared its teeth at the feline that was now standing in front of it.
Raccoon used Quick Swipe on Larkshine for -8HP and -10SP

Briarpaw had been so excited to see the territory she had spent so long dreaming of as a kit. The real thing had been a little closer to what the warriors had told her rather than the constructed fantasy she had held, but it was still exciting to finally be able to explore it. And at long last, she got to train! She got to do things, and start on the path to actually being a warrior!
She wasn't sure if Larkshine was going to show her the basics of hunting first, well, she probably would of course. But something had caught her mentor's attention. Something foul flooded her nostrils and Briarpaw grimaced. Following her mentor, her eyes widened at the sight of the gray and black striped beast that Larkshine had leaped at with unsheathed claws.
She had to help, she couldn't just let her mentor fight the thing off by herself, right? Swallowing back her sudden fear, Briarpaw shakily lashed out at the raccoon tentatively, her own claws unsheathed. That gray pelt was much thicker than she was expecting, leaving her claws to uselessly part through fur instead of anything that would cause harm.
Briarpaw attempted to use front paw strike for -7 sp, dealing -6 damage. Attempt unsuccessful.
Raccoon: 9 HP / 110 SP Briarpaw: 20 HP / 53 SP (-7) Larkshine: 37 HP / 83 SP

Larkshine growled realizing she didn’t do anything but pull some fur out. She sprang forward, ready to slide under the raccoon for a belly rake, but misjudged the distance plowed into the raccoon instead. She sat back and shook her head. This was the first time she had missed an attack like that, and it flustered her. ‘It must be this dang eye!’ She thought as she retreated away from the grey creature.
Larkshine attempted Belly Rake on the Raccoon but failed, costing -5HP and -25SP to herself.
Larkshine: 32 HP (-5) / 58 SP (-25) Raccoon: 20 HP / 110 SP Briarpaw: 20 HP / 53 SP
The raccoon spun around towards the cat that just crashed into its side and swiped at her again, this time swiping at her ear. Its sharp claws tore the young warrior's ear and cased blood to trickle down her cheek.
