Larkshine Tier 3 Warrior | Shadowclan | She/Her
The sun was setting down in the sky, casting a beautiful light through camp. The morning had been quite chilly, so Larkshine hadn’t gone out like she normally did. She stretched out in her nest and blinked her eye a couple times to adjust. She was still getting used to the one eye vision thing, but that didn’t slow her down any.
Larkshine rushed out of the Warrior’s den with pure excitement! She had another apprentice, and she was ready to start training. She darted over to the den where the younger molly would be and poked her head inside. “Briarpaw are you in here?” She chirped quickly while scanning the den. She spotted the little calico and nudged her, urging her to leave her nest. Larkshine had plans and they did not include sleeping. Briarpaw was curled in her nest still, the warmth admittedly keeping her just a little drowsy. There was a cold draft at the den's entrance that she did not like. Still, when her mentor had come to the den to find her, Briarpaw was quick to rouse. "Here, Larkshine!" She half yawned, shaking off the lingering sleepiness as she followed the warrior out of the den.
"What are we doing today?" Now that the sleep had been banished, she was eager to begin.

“We’re going to do a bit of sparring today!” Larkshine mewed as she led her young apprentice out of camp. “There is a nice spot where I used to take Orchidspark…” Her voice trailed of as she thought about her former apprentice, who recently went missing. “Um, it uh is a nice spot to train with some softer ground.”
She led Briarpaw to the small clearing, it was a little muddier than usual due to the rain showers that had blown through recently. She sniffed around to make sure they were safe before she dropped down into a defensive position. “Ok, Briarpaw I want you to attack me!” She lightly growled with a mischievous grin, at her calico apprentice. Sparring! Briarpaw was practically bouncing up and down with excitement as she followed Larkshine from camp, their path stopping in a muddy clearing. The mention of her former apprentice did not go unnoticed, causing Briarpaw's ears to slide back briefly in dismay, but it was replaced by rapt attention as her mentor continued to speak.
Just... attack her? "Okay..." Still, Briarpaw found herself hesitating slightly as she gazed up at her mentor. Fully grown, for one, and probably far more experienced in a fight. She would get there eventually, though. Almost tentatively, Briarpaw reached out with a paw, careful to keep her claws sheathed.
Briarpaw has attempted to attack Larkshine. Rolling effect dice: 1,2,3: miss. 4,5,6: successful hit. Attempt unsuccessful.
First to be hit 3 times gets KO'd? Briarpaw: 0/3 Larkshine: 0/3

Larkshine swatted at Briarpaw’s out reached paw, swiping just below it. “You have to have confidence when you attack! Otherwise, your opponent will take advantage of your weakness.” She mewed with a slight chuckle. “Try again but this time think of me as a rogue cat who, uh hmm, who is stealing food from your territory and there is hardly enough to feed your family!” Larkshine playfully hiss as she dropped back down into a defensive crouch.

The way her paw didn't connect with her mentor's pelt as she'd hoped - and Larkshine had clearly noticed by her words - sent embarrassment prickling through Briarpaw's pelt. "Sorry," Briarpaw ducked her head, though her mentor's paw did not quite connect either. "I'll do better, I promise!" She added, taking another swipe at Larkshine, this time a bit less hesitant even if she was still a bit unsure of herself.

Rolling - Mistpelt, I SWEAR to Starclan....
Larkshine’s heart dropped as her apprentice apologized. "Don’t apologize Briarpaw, you’re still learning!” Her tail gently swished behind her as she gently bopped the young molly on the head. “It doesn’t take long to catch on.” Her eyes looked towards the sky as the wind rustled through the leaves above. She was glad she hadn’t chosen today to go hunting. The wind would definitely give them away.
Larkshine gently smacked Briarpaw and is now distracted by the wind XD

"I know I'm still learning I just..." She just... What? Hadn't expected this level of difficulty? Maybe she'd be better at hunting. She had never been much of a fighter like some of her siblings were, maybe this training session was more proof of it? But still, she had said she would be the best warrior in Shadowclan one day and she meant it. Briarpaw lashed out with her paw again, hoping to connect like her mentor had just done.

“There ya go!” Larkshine purred as her apprentice’s paw made contact with her body. She quickly lunged forward and swatted her apprentice on the shoulder. “It’s ok, I prefer hunting over sparring!” she quickly whispered in Briarpaw’s ear before jumping back. She was happy the young molly had made a strike, even if she had to get a little angry in order to do so.
