"Ghost in your house, Ghost in your arms"
Boartusk T1 Warrior | ShadowClan | He/Him
Boartusk raised his nose to the air, his mouth slightly parted to let the scents rush over his palette. It has rained just the night before, the ground wet and soft under his pads and mud staining the white fur of his paws brown. The scent of soggy dirt was heavy in the air, but so was the scent of prey. Frogs, rodents, even a few birds that have come down to devour the worms emerging from the damp soil. Even if he wanted to avoid a soggy pelt, the clan needed to be fed and this seemed like a good enough place to hunt.
He glanced to the rest of his patrol mates, giving a small nod to confirm their location and start to disperse. He dipped into a crouch, remaining within the deep shadows of the pin trees as he followed the scent of a mouse. He could hear its tiny body bounding over the pine needles, the little thing pausing to try cleaning the mud from its pelt. Careful steps forward brought him closer, the pine needles softening his approach until he felt he was close enough. Bunching his muscles, the tom launched himself toward the plump rodent.
However, he slipped on the wet pine and mud, doing more of a silly little hop than a pounce. The mouse's head darted to the large tom before it scrambled into the undergrowth, disappearing without a trace. His face burned a little hot under his fur. Hopefully the others didn't witness that.
Boartusk tried to catch a mouse... and failed

"The weak never have their wings unfurl."
Silverhawk T3 Warrior | ShadowClan | he/him
Silverhawk hated traipsing around when the mud was as wet and soft as it was now, feeling it cling to and dirty his pelt, but he would put up with it. It wouldn’t do well for one of ShadowClan’s best warriors to go around complaining about mud, their natural habitat, or to refuse his duties in defiance of the rain-churned earth. He grit his teeth and pressed on alongside the rest of his patrol, focusing instead on the scents that washed over his tongue; the promise of prey nearby. He was sure to catch something today—several things, he hoped. Judging by the way Boartusk slipped off in pursuit of something just to fall on his muzzle, Silverhawk didn’t think his competition was very stiff.
Satisfied with watching that, he turned and padded off for himself. It wasn’t far before he spotted a blackbird pecking at the pine needles. Aggravating prey for ShadowClan to catch, but always a reward when you succeeded. Silverhawk sank into a low crouch and crept forward, careful of where he placed his paws. While he didn't slip, the bird still noticed his approach, and it went fluttering away with a squawk. Silverhawk scowled after it, tail lashing, before he turned and plodded back towards the spot they'd all separated from.
Silverhawk attempted to catch a blackbird... attempt unsuccessful. -3 SP.

"Ghost in your house, Ghost in your arms"
Boartusk T1 Warrior | ShadowClan | He/Him
It seemed the weather wasn't doing Silverhawk any favors either, the tom coming back empty-mawed just as he was. There was a little comfort in the idea it wasn't just him, but the clan still needed to be fed. "Maybe we'll have more luck the second go around?" He offered a subtle smile before heading off to find something to take back home. Maybe he could find a lizard. Those grow slow without the sun to warm them up. With their bodies so close to the chilly earth, they should be an easy catch.
He searched among fallen pine trees and flat stones in search of scaley bodies hiding the night away. Most of the hiding places he checked were empty, but thankfully not all of them. He found a lizard lazily nestled against a log, unable to shimmy itself under the fallen wood completely. It wasn't difficult to hook a claw in and fish it from its resting place, a quick bite dispatching his prey. It might not be a big meal, but any prey was better than no prey.
He lumbered back to reconvene with the others and bury his catch. Hopefully Silverhawk had some better luck too.
Boartusk tried to catch a Lizard and was Successful!
